Delete your account

Taoist Diary is published by Solomon Interactive LLC. You can delete your account and everything stored with it at any time, and you do not need our permission or our help to do it.

From inside the app

This is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately. Open the app, go to You, then Account, then Delete account, and confirm. Nothing is queued for review and no one reads a request — the account is removed at once.

If you no longer have the app

Write to contact@solomoninteractive.com from the e-mail address of the account, and ask for it to be deleted. Writing from the account’s own address is what lets us be sure the request is yours; if you cannot, tell us and we will find another way to confirm it. We answer within thirty days, and in practice much sooner.

What is deleted

Everything tied to the account, permanently and with no way for us to bring it back:

• your e-mail address and the stored hash of your password;
• which page of each book you stopped on, and how far into each audio you are;
• the passages, mornings, tales, chapters and books you saved;
• your subscription record on our side, and the day your year started.

What is kept, and for how long

Ordinary backups may hold a copy for up to thirty days before they expire on their own. We do not read them and we do not restore from them to recover a deleted account.

We may also keep records we are required to keep by law — for example, what a tax authority requires about a payment. Those records live with the store that took the payment, not with us: we never receive your card, your name or your billing address.

Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription

This catches people out, so it is worth saying plainly. The subscription belongs to your Apple or Google account, not to us, and it keeps renewing until you cancel it there. Cancel it in your device’s subscription settings before deleting the account, or you will keep being charged for something you can no longer open.
